Final Fantasy VI 

This song, emotionally, is one of the most powerful for me in FFVI and in ALL of Uematsu’s work, particularly because of it’s use and the first time you see it. It is hands down my favourite flight music in the series. (I realize they use it for the ground as well in WoR after this point, but I will always match it with the Falcon and the freedom and hope its retrieval brings forth.)

You’ve stepped onto the Falcon, a symbol of everything Setzer had lost, and take hold of it to rebuild your shattered team to assault Kefka and fix the world; suddenly, this powerful lead in starts and you’re breaking through the water and soaring into the sky and you know: you can do this. The song itself is still a bit dour, but there’s an upbeatness to it; it’s going to be hard, it’s going to take work, but you CAN do this.
