I really hate “???” on the FFVI soundtrack. The rest of the soundtrack is gold, don’t get me wrong, but there’s something terrible about that tune, evoking images of a silly, loony old man, gone mad with solitude. There is nothing about that song that makes me want to listen to it. It is meant to play during strange and funny encounters, but the song itself is so awkward, so strange, that I cannot for any reason bring myself to like it. Why in god’s name would anyone want to listen to that song alone? It’s not even catchy!

I kind of stared at this trying to figure out what you were talking about for a second, in Japan, that track is titled differently, and my files contain some of the Japanese track titles XD (It’s known as “What?” originally).

Aw, you don’t like it? I find it to be terribly hilarious and fun to dance to.
